R E D // R E D has been quite the ride.

FOUNDER

At the forefront of visual technology. 

R E D // R E D founder Jake Hawkins is an internationally distributed film maker, broadcast music video director and 3D motion design specialist.

"I was an early adopter of camera tech and used to travel the globe flying drones and shooting with gimbal mounted cameras in their infancy. I've always loved being at the forefront of visual technology, being an early adopter of game changing advancements.

 

Advancements in real time photorealistic rendering software and hardware, AI machine learning and delivery platforms such as Apple Vision Pro is putting 3D imaging at the fore once again, and I am

so excited to be a part of it."

Our Journey So Far

2013

THE JOURNEY BEGINS...

Coming off the back of his first feature film, Jake begins working within the marine industry as a freelance video producer trading as The Red Red Video. 

2014

FIRST DJI GIMBAL CAMERA DRONES GO ON SALE

As an early adopter of the DJI Phantom 2 Vision + drone, he begins travelling the globe filming on the water. 

2015

CINEMA 4D R17 IS RELEASED

Undertakes Cinema 4D training and begins producing large volumes of 3D product renders for clients including for websites, print catalogues and animated videos.

DJI RELEASE THE RONIN-M GIMBAL

The game changing DJI Ronin-M is released and we begin filming extensively on the water capturing stabilised footage of boats at speeds upwards of 30knots. 

2017

DAME AWARD WIN FOR SCANSTRUT

New client Scanstrut win the DAME Award at METS Trade for their Venture Connect Conversion Kit and we had the pleasure of producing the submission video for the award.

2019

JAKES FREELANCE VIDEO BUSINESS IS INCORPORATED.

The video business is incorporated into

The Red Red Video LTD bringing with it bigger clients

and larger scale 3D visualisation projects.

2021

GUEST LECTURES AT WINCHESTER UNIVERSITY.

Returning to his old University, Jake begins training the next generation in specialist motion design, post production workflows and cinematography. 

2023

UNREAL ENGINE 5 IS RELEASED.

Epic Games releases Unreal Engine 5 and the game is changed once again with realtime photo real rendering being made possible with the use of RTX 4090 GPUs.

SCANSTRUT WIN ANOTHER DAME AWARD.

Longstanding customer Scanstrut pick up another DAME award at METS Trade for their ATMOS 12V Air Pump system. The submission relied heavily on the promotional video produced by us.
